AVATAR WAS THE NO.1 MOVIE THIS WEEKEND FOR THE FOURTH TIME

Avatar was the No. 1 movie this weekend for the fourth time with an estimated 48.5 million. Avatar is officially the second highest grossing movie of all time
 (1.3 billion so far), behind 1997’s Titanic (another Cameron hit) which has taken in about $1.8 million worldwide. Will Avatar defeat Titantic for the top spot.
Sherlock Holmes came in second place this weekend with $16.6 million, and Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel was third place with $16.3 million. The vampire horror movie Daybreakers debuted in fourth place with $15 million.
